Report a mistake on our site
If a fee, rule, link or explanation on this site is wrong or out of date, tell us the page and what you found, with a link to the official source if you have one. We verify against the state’s own sources and update the page. Substantive corrections are listed on our updates page.
Changing an official record
Business records in our search results come from state registries or their official data, and we show them as the state publishes them. We can’t change them. If a state record is wrong (a misspelled name, an old address, an incorrect status), contact that state’s filing office; its page on this site links to it. Most corrections are made by filing an amendment or a statement of change. Once the state updates its record, our results show the change on the next search, though open-data sources may take a day or a week.
Privacy requests
We don’t keep pages about individual businesses or people, and we don’t store search results beyond a short cache (15 minutes). If something in a result concerns you, for example personal information a state has published in a business record, email us. We can stop displaying a specific field in our results where that doesn’t make the record misleading. To remove information from the public record itself, ask the state filing office.
For how we handle visitor data, see the privacy policy.
