LLC filing fees by state

Updated . General information, not legal or tax advice.

The state filing fee to form an LLC ranges from $35 (Montana) to $500 (Massachusetts). That is only the cost to file. Several states add recurring fees or taxes, and New York, Arizona and Nebraska require newspaper publication that can cost more than the filing itself. Notes in the table call these out.

Fees are taken from each state’s official fee schedule or statute and change from time to time; follow the link to confirm before you file.
